Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Ezekiel 11, Luke 5

Think of renewal in Christ this next new year! We have two paths to follow, one of selfishness and one of Christ! Let yesterday's bad things and good things be for yesterday! Live today and tomorrow in goodness!

Order of Service: Sister Nola played the piano, Brother Matt led in the congregational song "O Come All Ye Faithful," Brother John offered prayer, Brother Scott read the morning announcements, Sister Brandy's Sunday School class recited a memory verse and sang a song, The congregation sang "Since Jesus Cam Into My Heart" and "Praise the Name of Jesus," Brother Dave and Josh collected the tithes and offerings, The congregation sang "Doxology," Children's Church began in the fellowship room led by Sister Jamie, Pastor Bill preached a new years sermon, The alter song "Have Thine Own Way" was played, In conclusion the congregation sang " To God Be The Glory."

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Luke 2

We are a fearful people which is why we are instructed in scripture to fear not. When an angel came to someone in scripture they were told to fear not. Jesus came that we would not fear this life or death and be a loving people. The Christmas spirit of life, love and giving should be with us all year long.

Sunday December 14, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Hebrews 1 and Hebrews 4

What's the deal with Christmas? Resisting the influence of the secular world seems irresistible! The big build up for the 25th of December often leaves the 26th flat and empty without Christ as our focus. God understands us! We can know Him! Knowing Christ as Savior!

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Acts 27

Stay with the boat during the storm. What anchors you?

Paul, on a ship bound for Rome

1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Colossians 2, Leviticus 7, Romans5

Giving thanks? We need to be thankful always. Practice being thankful! Be in practice! It will be in you to be grateful. Think about being grateful for thanksgiving to God! Thank God in adversity and tough tough times. Thank God in good times and easy times. This new day be thankful. Make it a point each and every day to be thankful.

Sunday November 23, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference 2 Corinthians 9:15, Acts 17:28, James 1;17

Thanks be unto God for His gift of Jesus. Use your talents and abilities for His glory. God gives all things and God does not change. Your family, your church, your job are just a few and how shall I give to God? Cheerfully and not grudgingly. Stewardship month once each year in this Church is a reminder just as the letter of 2 Corinthians is a reminder and instruction to the Church.

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Matthew 6:19, Matthew 6:22

Don't store up things here on Earth. Lay up your treasure in Heaven. Having a right attitude about money ensures other aspects of  you life are right and good. He gives our every need! He always will! We should give according to what scripture says! Give your tenth and more if you desire. Why do we desire what we desire? What is your motivation? Ask Jesus to set your priorities. God will give you the desires of your heart.

Sunday November 9, 2008

Guest Preacher Dustin Huff

Reference Psalm 1-2, Proverbs 1-3

Brother Dustin is a visiting 20 year old student from Hillsdale College in Moore Oklahoma.

Our walk with God should be a joy! A delight! Keep His commandments upon your heart! Where are you in you walk? Don't walk a sinful path! A disciple follows Jesus daily! Follow Him! Be a doer of His word! Stand up for the cause of Christ! Sitting down spiritually? Stand up for Him!

Sunday November 2, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Psalm 90:9-12, John 3:8, Romans 3:15

Moses writes that they are punished for being rebellious to God. Obey Him and use your time wisely. Manage your time and treasure in the way God would want. God gives us all we have and even created time! Use all you have wisely! Use your God given mind for thought of good things of God! Don't let emotions dictate your actions. Change your life; Something in your if it doesn't line up with God's word. Ask him for contentment and peace in your life.

Sunday October 19, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Psalm 78:1-8, Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Christians are to be set apart in society! Preachers need to tell the truth! Too much of the world is coming into the sanctuary through the preachers and teachers! The absolute truth should always be spoken. Not half truths and absolute lies! Teach God's commandments to your children! Be an example to the next generation by living a holy life! One that is set apart. Trust in the Lord! don't forget where he brought you from! Obey and teach his ways!

Sunday October 12, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference 2Timothy 2, 2 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 8,9

Our hope is in Jesus! Mercy! Hope! Redemption! Our hope is not in the world's economy or in government offices! No matter what comes my way God is still in control! He will care for my needs! God's Word! God himself will not change! Ever! Do not be afraid of anything. Study his word. Live your life in his word.

Today after morning service the church went to the Mississinewa River to celebrate the baptism of
Josh Harrington. Pray for him and encourage him in his new walk with God. There is video and photos on our website.

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Hosea 7

A rebel is one who resists authority. When we know what is right and resist we are rebellious. We rebel against God and do things our way! Why is there such a demand to accept and approve the sins of the world and tolerate evil as good? To rebel against God? Getting sin out of your life will bring revival in your life and family and church! Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft! Yes witchcraft is still sin! It's here in our Bible! If you love the brethren and assemble yourselves together you are what you say you are! Just be obedient to God's word! There is an end to one who rebels! Here are some indicators of rebellion.

*secret sin   *lying   *unconcern   *glory in sin   *don't care for the things of God   *no prayer life

Revival has many meaning and perceptions for us. What are they? Why do we lose hope when things don't go our way? These times will be challenging and encourage and build our faith! Revival must result in reaping what you sow! Revival is in the people! The Church! How do we reach the lost and and dying world? Not many will even listen! Revival is the response to God's word! We can thank him for all things and for the opportunity to be a witness!

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts (morning and evening)

Reference Romans 8:29, 6:11, Philippians 6:11

Want change? Trust in God! How can I be more Christ like? In Trust! God has the same desire for us; to be more Christ like. We are predestined to be like his son Jesus! It is not what you have done! It takes little on our part! It's all what Christ has done! Surrender to God for freedom from sin for spiritual growth. Don't look at yesterday but today and tomorrow! Surrender yourselves to Jesus! Love the brethren!

Sunday August 31, 2008

Guest Preacher Phillip Messer

Reference Genesis 1:, John

Today Brother Phillip reminded us that all things are created by God and people are set apart in creation. Evolution is a much greater unbelievable faith than creation and takes a faith which is much harder to believe with man coming from the muck. We will bow before God today or tomorrow but we will bow down in this life or the eternity to come.

Sunday August 24, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Romans 6, Galatians 1, 1Corinthias 2, Acts 32, John 3

Wide is the gate and path to Hell! A narrow path and straight gate for one at a time to enter heaven. There is only one way to get to heaven! It is through Jesus! As individuals we must come to Him! Conversion is a step from the life of a sinner to the life of a Christian! Be converted! Death, burial and resurrection is the formula of salvation God has laid out for us! We must all see our need, our penalty, God's provision for us and our confession of Jesus as Lord! Trust, Repent and Believe in the gospel of Jesus!

We are here today to worship! Each day is a day of worship! We need to worship outside of these church building walls! Living for Christ is our focus! A missionary focus is a focus we must have! The church is reaching into many ministries!  It's all about Christ! The need to live your life as Christ would live! Freedom from the bondage of sin is real freedom!

Today Brother Todd Burns told us of the great work at the race track in Indianapolis. We have sponsored his team's car and that has been an opportunity to be a witness for Jesus. He is the Chaplain there and conducts worship services. His testimony can be heard on our audio page. Audio Sermon / All Audio

False teaching has been and will always be with us! We are instructed to earnestly contend or fight for the faith which once was delivered to us in this scripture. Mocking the word of God has been and will continue in this world! From the beginning even Cain followed his own religion not that of  God. Preachers and Teachers are hurting more than one when they lie or are mistaken! We need to know the truth in this word! Have a sincere compassion for the lost and a desire to serve Jesus! We have to have absolute confidence in Jesus!

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference 2Timothy 2:15, 1John

People are different after accepting Christ! To stay from sin you must turn from it! We can be sure of our eternity! When we are saved our lives will be different! You must have a desire for holiness! The world does not know us! It does not know Jesus! Few will enter into the kingdom of God! Many are mistaken! Upon death of this body the spirit goes to God. The soul to Heaven or Hell. That's what the Bible says! A Christian does not live like the world! Dear God show us what we desire and give us the desire to be holy. Change our desires.

Sunday July 27, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Genesis 3, 1 Peter 5, Romans 12:3, 1 Thessalonians 5:13

The devil's job is to kill, steal and destroy. He wants to cause strife in churches and in the life of Christians. From the beginning he attempted to discredit the word of God! To cause confusion in God's word and in our reasoning and to doubt God's authority by twisting the word of God! God's ways are not our ways! Many times the devil so frustrates us we don't even recognize when we have changed our focus! Pray without ceasing! Pray Daily! It's how we must walk!

Guest Preacher David Sexton

Reference John 4

We see the woman in this scripture was isolated. This Samaritan woman is miserable. She was isolated in society coming to the well at noon time instead of in the morning with the other women. Those who claim Jesus but do not live for him are perhaps more miserable. Jesus is extending grace to us and to this woman at the well. Jesus' mission is to seek and to save that which is lost. That is our mission and the mission of the church through Jesus!

Focus and use your time wisely because we are spending our days as a story unfolding! Life may seem as a desert at times not knowing what is next. These times draw us closer to God. Nothing good in life comes without a struggle. You have today as a gift, how will you spend your days. When you live by God's plan (salvation) you are saying no to the world's plan (destruction).

Christians should be involved in our political process. Just don't substitute morality and goodness for a social gospel. Do not forget about what was done at Calvary for our benefit! Abraham Lincoln said repent! Jesus said repent! It has always been the same, repent today! Turn from sin! Reject it! Don't give up hope in our form of government. Is politics dirty and muddied? Yes! Support your government in theses ways. Pay your taxes, Pray for our government, Praise God for our government and be involved in our government.

Put truth in your mind! In your heart! Purity and lovely things in your mind are things to be desired for a life with Jesus! Don't get sucked into the world becoming useless to serve him.

Guest Preacher Bob Thompson

Reference Matthew 18, 1 Corinthians, Acts 5

It is my desire today to say it is good and I am glad to be in the house of the Lord! David's desire was to say I desire to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Sometimes things do go wrong in the church! Just make them right! When wrong is recognized change it! When you go to see a doctor you want the doctor to tell you what is wrong with you, not what is right with you. If there is something wrong you want to know so you don't just die! Instruction in the Bible often tells us what is wrong to correct us.

Sunday June 15, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Proverbs 3:11, Colossians

A father's first instruction in life is from his own father. If your father is not or was not present in your life your instruction came from someone. You are teaching your children what you are and what they will become. Fathers fulfill a crucial role in the family and cares for the family. Provider, disciplinarian and care giver. Whom the Lord loves he corrects as a father does. Dads want the best for their children. God has charged dads to urge children in the right path in life.

Sunday June 8, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Genesis 13 and 19, 1 Samuel 2:12, 1 Samuel 3:12

Most examples of fathers in the Bible are bad examples teaching us what not to do as a father. Place God first teaching our children and not underestimating what God has for our lives. Eli the Priest knew of sin and did nothing. Lot was great business man but a poor father. Lot was a leader in Sodom but had no credibility with his family when he tried to warn of judgment and coming destruction. He had no positive spiritual influence with his children. Do you influence your child for Christ or do others influence them in other ways. The sons of Eli the priest were no different than the sons in law of Lot in Sodom. Men! Be these three things in your home! Priest. Restrainer of children. Involved in the family and household.

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Genesis 25:5, Genesis 14

Abraham gave all he had to his child Isaac. Do you give all positive and negative aspects of what you are to your children? Reputation, wealth, family values? Abraham cared for people and negotiated with God for the souls of Sodom! His was a life of consecration, set apart for God. He loved God more than anything! Children pay more attention to what we do more than what we say! He taught Isaac by example. We are giving all to out children whether it be good or not and whether we realize it or not.

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Matthew 22:15, 1Peter 2, Matthew 5:41

Give God what is God's! Give to government what is required! Obey the statutes and laws of man. If man's laws disagree with God's laws we ought to obey God's no matter what. We have freedom to travel in this nation. We have freedom to worship God in our own way. Eternal freedom is found in Jesus only! This national holiday is designed to remind us that freedom is not free.

Sunday May 18, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference Isaiah 40:8, John 6:63, Numbers 22:20

What is the Bible? It is God's book. It brings me to God. The Bible is truth and tells me the right thing to do. God has a plan for your life and my life. Read the Bible straight forward and do what it commands. When the Bible is silent on a topic don't make it speak using your own words. Don't make rules. The plain sense makes good sense, seek no other sense but take each word at its normal literal meaning. The Bible is written in an everyday language of Greek and Hebrew. Read God's word! Listen to it! Live it!

Sunday May 11, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference 2 Timothy, Proverbs 13:24, 1 Corinthians 6

Christian mothers are the worlds greatest asset! The influence mothers have on children! An important part in the life of souls! No matter what you do on this earth it is for nothing without faith in God! Children need to know their mother's faith! Correcting children is done because moms love children! Love will correct and console, care and listen. A Godly mom wants their child to be separate from this world and not entangling themselves with it.

Today we had a special presentation by representative JR Mercer of the Kairos Prison Ministry International. He spoke of the success in prison ministry and the need for our support.

We need a personal relationship with Jesus! Any other relationship will not bring us to the Kingdom of God! The Apostles taught one doctrine! That of Jesus! The focus in this local church must be off of persons and onto Jesus Christ!

Sunday April 13, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference John 1:7, Matthew 28:18, Ephesians 1:22

Christians are perceived as judges or judgmental by the lost. We are not judges but are perceived that way because many of us do judge. The Bible is our standard and no other book will supplement it. Denominational differences are not from the standard. Be accountable to and for your church. The Bible is our standard and Jesus is the authority in the church. All power is given to him! He has put all things under his feet. Be an ambassador for Jesus! Through the apostle's doctrine which is the teaching Jesus gave to the apostles. We can do and know the will of God through our standard.

Sunday April 6, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference 1 Timothy 5:16, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Matthew 13:33

The churches responsibility is to prepare other saints for service. Individuals should provide for the widows in their own families so the church can provide for the need of widow's with no family to care for them. Elders and Deacons are the only offices established by scripture. Our churches have been incorporated as secular organizations and begin behaving in a secular manner. We have a responsibility to live in this world without becoming a part of it. We have to avoid becoming something other than the church Jesus built.

Sunday March 30, 2008

Brother Phillip Messer (Logansport paper) was our guest preacher today and was joined by his wife and son in singing some great worship songs.

Reference James 1:1-4, Hebrews 4:12

If God goes on before us we defeat our enemies! David ran for Goliath having God before him! Satan is looking to destroy us! The giants in our lives can be defeated when God goes on before us! Something inside of you should show the love of Christ to a lost and dying world! We have one shot at living this life! The preacher is accountable to what is preached and the listener is accountable to what is heard! For whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved!

Today we had a special presentation by representative Randy Overman of Gideons International telling us of the works done throughout the world.

Brother Phillip Messer was our guest preacher today and was joined by his wife and son in singing some great worship songs.

God wants simple obedience! How much do you love your children? Would you die for them? God sent his son Jesus to die for us! Our decision for Christ will direct our path for our entire life! That one decision will be the only one that really matters!

Sunday March 2, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference John 21, Romans 12, Romans 14:12

What keeps us from serving God? Serve to you ability! Don't focus on other Christians action or inaction! What are your excuses? Age? Inability? Your upbringing? Your decision for Christ is your decision. Many hide behind other people's failures and hypocrisy. Each one of us will give an account of ourselves. It's up to you how close you are to God! Bitterness has replaced blessings for many Christians! Peter wanted to compare his work with John's works. Please don't compare your service to another Christian's service. God will use those who think they have very little to offer.

Sunday February 25, 2008

Pastor Bill's Message Excerpts

Reference1Peter 5, Acts 20:28, Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 3

A Saint is a believer in Jesus. When this Bible speaks of Saints, that is you! Feeding the flock of God is the responsibility of an Elder in the church. The first job of the church is to teach the truth of God's word. Our worship is to edify the church! The church Jesus built! You can rely on his word! Preparing us for his service. Preaching and teaching edifies the church! Speaking in love, not in condemnation! The Spirit alone will reveal condemnation to someone!

Reference1Peter, Colossians1, Revelation 3, 1Timothy 2:3

Many people are not Christians and do good works. We need to do great works also but we know there is but one way to the Kingdom of God. Through Jesus! We need to tell everyone we meet! There will never be a better time to witness to someone than right now! God made us to be a special people. A Holy Nation. We become peculiar. We thank God for making us fit for the inheritance of the Saints of Light. There is but one mediator between God and man. Jesus! One God. One Mediator. One Jesus. Jesus alone. Jesus only!

We have to be a part of the church Jesus built! The universal church is the church Jesus built. The local church should do its' very best to follow his teachings. The local church is necessary to worship together but a local church can reject you. The church which Jesus built will not reject a believer! The lost can be members of a local church but the lost cannot be members of the church Jesus built.

You are in this game, this race of life. you will do it with Christ or without. In retirement without him will be empty! Dads be there for your kids! Moms be there for your kids! Children will live out what they have been taught! As you grow more will be required of you. More will be expected! What is tomorrow going to bring? What will be expected of you? Be prepared to enter the next chapter of your life.

Happy New Year!

We receive gifts from the Holy Spirit, skills we are responsible to use. There is no greater or lesser parts in the body of Christ. Each on has a part in God's ministry in God's choosing. Working with hands or teaching to build the physical and spiritual church. Remember who you serve! Use your gifts! Step into the work! God will let you know where you need to be in his service. Remember to listen.
